NBCOT exam cost: the fees the handbook actually names
NBCOT publishes the current exam fee on its Get Certified page rather than in the handbook, so confirm it at application time. The handbook does name the fees that surprise candidates: $115 to reissue an Authorization to Test letter, $35 for a duplicate MyNBCOT account, and $35 for each score transfer or eligibility confirmation notice requested after application payment.
Fees named in the handbook
| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| ATT letter reissue (late arrival, no-show, late reschedule, expiry) | $115 |
| Duplicate MyNBCOT account | $35 |
| Score transfer or eligibility confirmation notice after payment | $35 each |
The exam fee itself
NBCOT publishes the current examination fee on its Get Certified page, and it differs for OTR and COTA candidates. We deliberately do not restate a number here that we cannot re-verify on a fixed schedule — check the official page when you apply, because the fee you pay is the one shown at checkout.
How to spend nothing extra
The whole avoidable-fee list comes down to three habits: create exactly one MyNBCOT account, request your free score transfer before you pay for the application, and treat the 48-hour reschedule boundary and the ATT expiry date as hard deadlines.
Enter your exam date and weekly hours; we allocate time by blueprint weight × your weak spots.
